| Students who wish to study a language not offered
at AUP, or who are prepared for very advanced work, may register
at another institution. |
| |
| Students wishing to pursue languages studies
outside AUP for university credit are required to obtain
pre-approval prior to enrolling at the other institution. Students
may only register to take languages outside AUP when the language
or the level in question is not taught at AUP. A minimum 2.8
cumulative grade point average is required. |
| |
| |
| Students are responsible for researching language
projects as well as organizing placement exams at the outside
institution. |
| |
| Students must present their language project with
documentation to the Advising Center for verification of the
contact hours of the program in question and for assistance with
completion of the necessary paperwork. |
| |
| Outside Language Study requires approval of: |
| |
The Student’s Academic Advisor |
The Associate Dean of Academic Affairs |
The University Registrar |
| |
| |
| There are two options for outside language study: |
| |
1 |
The course is registered as a fifth
course on the student’s AUP schedule and included as part of
the student’s full-time semester tuition. Grades for these
courses are only recorded on the credit/no credit basis. |
2 |
The course is pre-approved as a
sixth course and once the course is complete, the credits are
recorded as ‘transfer credits’. Students choosing this option
are responsible for all course fees at the other institution. |
